Fish10,

I have stated numerous times how the Obama Admin could have done things better. For starters, they could have gotten out of the way and let the market work in accordance with the US constitution. I am biased against ALL politicians because I dislike politics and government in general.

I would never take such a nihilistic view of government. In a true democracy, our rpsentatives are truely representative, teachers, accountants, fisherman , who like ancient Greece would take their turn.

But as government has become more compicated we have handed this function over to professional politicians for better or worse.

If we get bad politicians, it is our own fault, we vote for those who promise us the world and then cannot deliver.

Far better to say, this is braodly want I want to do, but we will see when we are in power what is possible and what is not.

Fish,

"True Democracy" is two wolves and a sheep voting on what's for dinner. As long as people are encouraged to use force against one another to achieve their personal goals we will have the corruption and meddling that goes along with it.

A constitutional republic that explicitly allows government a few choice tasks, and disallows everything else is the only moral form of government.

Most of the Austrian school believes it shouldn't exist at all. I don't believe that... yet.
